Here at Rainbow Lake Retreat, we like to call Rainbow Lake, “Our Lake,” because of the fact we have no houses across the lake from us at our lakeside cabin rental’s end of Rainbow Lake. That means you and your family have completely unobstructed views of the lake and surrounding forest, making Rainbow Lake Retreat an extremely tranquil and relaxing lakefront cabin rental for you and your family.
Our lake was actually made by Mormon settlers in 1903 when they damned nearby Walnut Creek which is a tributary of the Little Colorado River. It’s 116 acres, has an average depth of 7 feet and a maximum depth of 14 feet. The White Mountains of Arizona have some of the best fishing in the country and Rainbow Lake is no exception. Plus it’s easy to fish at Rainbow Lake Retreat from our home’s fishing dock.
The lake is stocked with rainbow trout in the spring and early summer. Please note that a state fishing license is required for anybody age 14 and older.
Other Fun Activities on Our Lake
